Umcka Cold Relief Syrup, Cherry, by Nature's Way

Umcka Cold Relief Syrup (formerly Umcka ColdCare) is a non-drowsy homeopathic medicine made with Pelargonium sidoides, a South African geranium root. The cherry-flavored syrup is suitable for the whole family from age 1. Uses: shortens the duration and reduces the severity of symptoms associated with the common cold and throat, sinus and bronchial irritations: congestion, cough, hoarseness and sore throat.

Active and Inactive Ingredients

  • Active ingredient: Pelargonium sidoides 1X (HPUS)
  • Inactive ingredients: aronia juice, citric acid, ethyl alcohol, fructose, glycerin, maltodextrin, natural flavor, potassium sorbate, purified water

How to Take It

Shake well and use the enclosed dosage cup. For best results, start at the first sign of symptoms. Take three times daily:

  • Adults and children 13 and older: 1 1/2 teaspoons (7.5 mL)
  • Children 6 to 12: 1 teaspoon (5 mL)
  • Children 1 to 5: 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 mL)

What Makes It Different

Instead of a decongestant or cough suppressant that only masks symptoms, Umcka is labeled to shorten how long a cold lasts. It has a single active ingredient, contains no phenylephrine, is non-drowsy, and one bottle works for adults and kids as young as 1. It is the same formula sold as Umcka Kids Cold Relief Syrup.

Sore throat warning: if sore throat is severe, persists more than 2 days, is accompanied or followed by a fever, headache, rash, nausea, or vomiting, consult a doctor promptly. Ask a doctor before use if you have a persistent or chronic cough such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema, a cough that is accompanied by excessive phlegm (mucus), are taking any medications, or have an allergy to plants of the Geraniaceae family. Stop use and ask a doctor if new symptoms occur, symptoms worsen or do not get better within 7 days, fever worsens or lasts more than 3 days, or cough lasts more than 7 days or occurs with rash or persistent headache. These could be signs of a serious condition. If pregnant or breast-feeding, ask a healthcare professional before use. Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
