Lutein 90 gels by Douglas Labs is a carotenoid vitamin with many potential uses and benefits. Lutein by Douglas Laboratories is a natural antioxidant carotenoid found in certain plants, such as the petals of Marigold flowers. A significant amount of zeaxanthin, a carotenoid similar in structure and function to lutein is also contained in each softgel. It closely resembles beta-carotene and vitamin A.
This vitamin may potentially be absorb into the body better and faster when taken with a full meal that is high in fat. It is commonly known for its benefit to eye health, such as inhibiting eye diseases like age-related macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, retinopathy of prematurity, eye strain, and cataracts.
