Policosanol is a blend of long-chain fatty alcohols, the two most common of which are octacosanol and triacontanol. The blend is naturally present in beeswax, sugarcane wax and wheat germ. Pure Encapsulations derives the blend in its Policosanol 20 mg capsules from sugarcane wax. The fatty alcohols may support cardiovascular health in many ways by promoting proper platelet function and healthy lipid metabolism as well as by protecting antioxidant levels in the body. By supporting platelet function, the Policosanol 20 mg supplement from Pure Encapsulations can manage blood clotting by discouraging excessive bleeding from internal or external injuries.
