Cardiovascular Research & Ecological Formulas was founded by Jonathan Rothschild. Jonathan began his career as a medical writer, specializing in cardiovascular research. Much of his research, publications and writings formed the foundation for the company and became the basis for many products and formulas.

In 1981, four products were launched under Cardiovascular Research, Ltd: Carnitine, Nialipin (time-released niacin), Mucopolysaccharide Concentrate
and Omnicholine. Each of these products has different mechanisms of action in cardiovascular physiology.

Ecological Formulas was established in 1982 in response to the growing needs of individuals with food and chemical sensitivities. Ecological Formulas is a subsidiary of Cardiovascular Research. Ecological Formulas was the first company to introduce: Vitamin C from Tapioca, Non-Yeast GTF, Tri-Salts, Caprylic Acid, Sorbic Acid and Selenium Crucrificate.

Both companies have been responsible for a number of major product introductions: CDP Choline, Lipoic acid, Allithiamine, Pantethine, Chondroitin-4-Sulphate, Melatonin, Serrapeptase and several formulas containing acetylated amino acids.

All products offered by Cardiovascular Research, Ltd. and Ecological Formulas are manufactured in a GMP approved facility and are analyzed for potency and purity.
