Iodoral 50 mg by Optimox is a tablet form, compared to liquid, of a high potency Iodine/Potassium Iodide supplement. Although iodine is needed for normal function of other organs, it’s primary function is as an essential element in producing thyroid hormones in the thyroid gland.

Iodoral is a form of Lugol’s solution in tablets. In the 1900’s, Lugol’s was used extensively and effectively, for both lowered and elvevated activity of the thyroid gland. The basis for this formulation of this elemental supplement comes from the consumption of the people of mainland Japan, since the optimal amount is unknown, where an average of 13.8 mg per day was consumed and are considered to be one of the healthiest people on earth. Warnings:
Do not use if you have an iodine sensitivity, or if you are taking anti-hypertension or anti-thyroid medications. Discontinue use if you develop swollen salivary glands, stomach upset, or skin rash. If you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition, or taking medications, consult your physician before using this product. Keep out of reach of children.
