Devil's Club 4 oz by Herb Pharm
The plant has been used for medicinal purposes by the Native Americans for centuries. The bark (from the stems or roots) was traditionally used for treating adult-onset diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. The berries were traditionally used to treat lice and dandruff by rubbing them into the scalp. In laboratory studies extracts of the bark have been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi, and some viruses. It may also be active against tuberculosis in the laboratory. These properties may be why it was traditionally used to treat a wide variety of illnesses when taken orally and used to treat wounds and sores when applied externally.
